Some things just bear repeating. Paul Washer is a clarion voice declaring the gospel straight up to America today. I recommended another of his messages back in March. I’ve listened to several others since then, and enjoyed them all. This series on the True Gospel is exceptional. But I’ll let These Are the Generations of … tell you all about it and provide the links.

The Life of David Brainerd by Jonathan Edwards is the free audio book this month over at christianaudio. It’s another one of those stories I’ve always wanted to read, but never got around to it. Great timing, as I’ve been wanting something new to listen to, after finishing our Henty audios a couple weeks ago.

This is a cross-post, but fits both blogs - so here it is:

I just found out christianaudio.com has a 4 day sale listed on their website. 40% off through this weekend. They have some good stuff and some stuff I wouldn’t recommend, but no doubt you can find something good to listen to there. Perhaps a book you’ve been meaning to read, but never have time to sit down long enough. Audio books are great for situations like this. I also find that some hard to wade through books are easier to understand when someone else is reading them to me.

Perhaps the Confessions of Augustine or the Hiding Place, the Attributes of God by Tozer or Pilgrims Progress, Desiring God or Robinson Crusoe, the Sovereignty of God or the Universe Next Door, True Spirituality or Aesop’s Fables. There’s several good choices for you to consider.

And, I may have mentioned this before, but in the Christian History section there is a whole series by John Piper that are excellent. They begin with the letters DG. Oh, and these ones are FREE!

A new series at Sermon Audio, which you may already know is one of my favorite places to find good things to listen to, caught my eye. It’s from the 2007 John Bunyan Conference.

Titles of the 6 sessions are:

Scottish Covenanters 1, 2, and 3.

The Beginnings of the British Reformation

Thomas Cranmer, Early Light of Reformation

Rediscovering the Puritans

I’ve only listened to a couple of sessions so far, but I’m really enjoying them. But it’s time to hit the sack and plug in for another one.

Also, please take a minute to jump over to my L.E.D. blog for an important message about a very special event this week.

The message yesterday reminded me of a book I read a little over a year ago - How Can I Be Sure I’m a Christian by Don Whitney.

BTW, after listening to the sermon recommended in my last post, go back to Sermon Audio and look up all the sermons by Paul Washer. Be sure to listen to the 2 part, The Beatitudes - Clothed in Christ. Excellent.

Don’t miss this message - by missionary Paul Washer to about 5000 American youth and adults - So Shocking and Biblical the Preacher was Never Invited Back. You can listen or watch or read, download or online.

Way of the Master heard it and interviewed him. This is a great listen, too.
