I just placed my audiobook order at christianaudio. Have you? Time’s almost out for their super sale.
Audiobooks are a busy mom’s best friend (well maybe not best, but a close one anyhow.) Being able to listen to books while working on other things, or just resting my eyes and relaxing when I’m too tired to read, but not tired enough to fall asleep, has helped me enjoy many books I’ve always wanted to read, but didn’t find the time to. christianaudio has many Christian classics, Christian biographies, literary classics, theology and worldview books and more. (Of course I don’t endorse everything on their site, just because it says Christian, but there’s plenty of good stuff there to keep you busy for a long time.) And, each month they have a free audiobook download for you to enjoy. Click on over and check them out. If you click fast (before noon PT July 2nd – That’s TODAY!) you can get in on their Twice-Yearly $7.49 sale on almost every book. That’s 30-70% off.
Join christianaudio’s Subscription plan to get your choice of great audiobooks cheaper every month—and 2 free bonus books when you sign up! (Click on the homepage and find this banner.)

To quote Lane Chaplin, "This sermon may be the one that ends up being the 95 theses of our time in history."

Some things just bear repeating. Paul Washer is a clarion voice declaring the gospel straight up to America today. I recommended another of his messages back in March. I’ve listened to several others since then, and enjoyed them all. This series on the True Gospel is exceptional. But I’ll let These Are the Generations of … tell you all about it and provide the links.

The Life of David Brainerd by Jonathan Edwards is the free audio book this month over at christianaudio. It’s another one of those stories I’ve always wanted to read, but never got around to it. Great timing, as I’ve been wanting something new to listen to, after finishing our Henty audios a couple weeks ago.

Lisa
This is a cross-post, but fits both blogs – so here it is:
I just found out christianaudio.com has a 4 day sale listed on their website. 40% off through this weekend. They have some good stuff and some stuff I wouldn’t recommend, but no doubt you can find something good to listen to there. Perhaps a book you’ve been meaning to read, but never have time to sit down long enough. Audio books are great for situations like this. I also find that some hard to wade through books are easier to understand when someone else is reading them to me.
Perhaps the Confessions of Augustine or the Hiding Place, the Attributes of God by Tozer or Pilgrims Progress, Desiring God or Robinson Crusoe, the Sovereignty of God or the Universe Next Door, True Spirituality or Aesop’s Fables. There’s several good choices for you to consider.
And, I may have mentioned this before, but in the Christian History section there is a whole series by John Piper that are excellent. They begin with the letters DG. Oh, and these ones are FREE!

A new series at Sermon Audio, which you may already know is one of my favorite places to find good things to listen to, caught my eye. It’s from the 2007 John Bunyan Conference.
Titles of the 6 sessions are:
Scottish Covenanters 1, 2, and 3.
The Beginnings of the British Reformation
Thomas Cranmer, Early Light of Reformation
Rediscovering the Puritans
I’ve only listened to a couple of sessions so far, but I’m really enjoying them. But it’s time to hit the sack and plug in for another one.
Also, please take a minute to jump over to my L.E.D. blog for an important message about a very special event this week.
SDG,
Lisa
