Follow Up on ‘What School?’
Just a statement I came across about what William Wilberforce had to say about such issues, as a follow up to my post on ‘What School?‘, and the still exploding topic brought on, this time, by Pulpit magazine.
I have seen a letter of Wilberforce, probably dating from the 1790s, in which he advises a friend that the public schools are too damaging to a boy’s faith to make it wise for a Christian father to send a son to one of them.

Now I want to see that letter. Always go to the source, you know?
And when you think about how different the schools were in 1790, it makes you wonder what admonishments we should be giving. We have to keep planting the seeds, and trust God to water them.
