I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
My hobbies are studying and teaching/ discipling, and designing. I sew, craft, decorate, organize, cook, bake, garden, put up, etc., sometimes out of love for the finished product and accomplishment, and necessity, rather than the joy of actually doing it.
I’ve studied education since 1986 and nutrition since 1978. I’ve studied the Bible since 1984, but my greatest joy is to sit in God's presence and worship. I’ve been in worship ministry for what seems like longer than I can remember, and I love to lead others to the Father's throne of Grace. When I was 3 I told my mom and dad I was going to sing and preach when I grew up - and I do!
Me and My House began out of my love of discipling others. In its early days I designed and sold crafts and patterns and taught craft classes. Then we began selling home school resources in the early 90's to promote our discipleship philosophy of education. I loved taking our whole family to vend at the home school conventions; meeting and talking with like-minded brothers and sisters at our table and presenting workshops. Now, we don't make it to many conventions except as attenders instead of sellers. I currently conduct seminars, disciple one-on-one, write resources, and do this website, elists, blogs, and other internet discipleship, mostly on home ed, some on nutrition, and the rest out of an overflow of worship and family life.
Our education of our children naturally flows out of our lifestyle. Serving God and others, and becoming equipped to do that better, are our focus in training. We’ve been “officially” home educating since 1987.
We welcome all the Blessings God sends us, including those in the form of children. We currently have 10. We consider it an awesome privelege and responsibility to train, disciple, and prepare them for their God-created purpose in Life. This is our primary ministry that takes presedence over all else.
I began selling kitchen equipment because I enjoy teaching people how to eat right and get healthy. The passion isn't the equipment, it's teaching on health, nutrition, and God's provision for healing.
My greatest passion in ministry is Biblical Wisdom, helping people to see God's view of Life in all areas, as they grow in serving God and others. May His Kingdom reign in our hearts.
Railroad Supervisor after 25 years in the grocery business: enjoying the shorter hours and lack of stress.
Sports buff: softball pitcher, weightlifter, golfer (not often enough though),
and HUSKER fan, also coach for boy's football, baseball, and occasionally soccer teams.
Amazing house remodeler: we've moved up from redecorating the first house we bought to doing it all in this one.
(and can you tell, NOT computer enthusiast!)
