She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. ~ Proverbs 31:27
Redeeming the Time Journal™ |
This probably isn't where I'd plan to start, but it is where I am at today, so here are some of the resources I've enjoyed as Keeper-at-Home. Like most other areas in my journey of life, I have written much about it in helping other moms, mainly on elists, in private emails, blog posts, etc. Some day these will be compiled into my own book.
Probably the most helpful book I read in helping me get a routine going in Keeping-at-Home was the original Side-Tracked Home Executives. I know they are online now, and also the Fly-Lady is based upon their ideas. I don't guarantee that the new version of their book is the same as what I read and learned.
Don Aslett's cleaning books are GREAT. I found them as a young mom, and have used them in teaching my children how to clean. Is There Life After Housework and Do I Dust or Vaccum First? were the first two I read, followed by Clutters Last Stand and Clean in a Minute. I don't have Office Clutter Cure, but probably need it. :-) A few others are listed below.
| Do I Dust or Vacuum First? 2nd Edition: Answers to the 100 toughest questions about housecleaning By Don Aslett / Adams Media Does Scotchguard pay? How do you clean velvet? With Don's practical and inexpensive solutions, you'll maximize your energy and minimize your efforts-and get any job anywhere done in half the time.
